Living at Kokoon
Rules & Regulations
Please read these rules carefully. All residents are expected to follow them at all times.
RDS Living
- AResidents should observe strict economy in electricity and water use. They must switch off the lights, fans, and other appliances as and when they leave their portion of RDS, common room and dining hall.
- BElectricity charges are to be paid monthly for every individual unit as per the electricity meter installed for the particular unit. The rate for the consumption displayed in the meter would be decided by the RDS administration.
- CActs of vandalism, as mentioned in the Code of Conduct, shall result in eviction from the RDS. The Resident found guilty of vandalism would also be required to pay all costs incurred by RDS due to such damage and destruction.
- DKeys provided to Residents for the rooms and almirahs are to be returned on completion of the stay. In case during the stay the keys are misplaced, the replacement costs shall be borne by the Resident.
- ECooking food in any area (except the pantry room, if available in the RDS) is strictly prohibited.
- FRDS Manager/Warden have full right to enter and inspect the rooms at any time they desire.
- GAny Resident or their guests found to be engaging in any intoxicating substances on the RDS premises may be expelled. It is the responsibility of residents to cooperate with RDS management, food providers, housekeeping and security staff to ensure all services are provided smoothly. The RDS management is the authority to decide on all matters.
Food & Dining
- AKokoon Food Bundle consists of only vegetarian food.
- BSelect dishes will be served in limited grammages or quantities.
- CWhether a Resident takes all meals or not, the Kokoon Food Bundle charges will be payable in full.
- DResidents are strictly forbidden from taking utensils, crockery, or cutlery from the mess for use in their rooms.
- EMeals will be served to the Resident in the dining hall only. However, if the RDS Manager/Warden permits, meals will be served in the Resident's room only for reasons of ill health.
- FStoring personal food items in common refrigerators is done at the Resident's own risk. RDS management will not be held liable for food being misplaced or stolen. Residents are advised to label their food items adequately.
Money & Valuables
- AResidents are advised not to keep ornaments, jewellery, other valuables, or large amounts of cash with them.
- BResidents are strongly advised to keep all valuables — mobile phones, laptops, watches, money etc. — securely locked at all times. While going on leave, they must keep all belongings securely packed in their bags or cupboards.
- CRDS management will not be answerable for any loss of jewellery, cash or other valuables.
Servants & General Services
- APersonal servants or maids are not allowed. No outside persons (such as tailors, cobblers etc.) will be permitted to enter any part of the RDS.
- BLaundry services are meant for regular daily wear only. For hygiene considerations, no underclothing or socks will be accepted for laundry.
- CThe Service Provider shall not be responsible for any damage to clothes given for laundry.
License Fee, Bundle Fee & Security Deposit
- ADelay in payment of License Fee and/or Bundle Fee will attract a late fee of Rs.50/- per day.
- BAt the time of leaving the RDS, all facilities provided shall be checked. Any damage or breakage found shall be adjusted against the security deposit.
Discipline
A resident who is found guilty of breaking rules, regulations, discipline or conduct is liable to be evicted from the RDS immediately at the discretion of the Management.
Hygiene, Health & Personal Responsibility
- AResidents shall immediately inform the RDS Manager/Warden if any critical or transferable illness is detected, to prevent other residents from getting infected.
- BResidents shall not consume any medication except that prescribed by a registered medical practitioner. Residents will carry their garbage bins and dispose of waste in the larger garbage bin on each floor.
Internet
- AThe Service Provider shall try to give a fair internet experience to everyone, for which it may continuously monitor internet usage by residents.
- BInternet speed will depend on the service provider and the location of the RDS. Speed will be limited per user and may be changed as per company policy.
- CThe Service Provider reserves the right to restrict the maximum number of devices per user.
- DBrowsing access is restricted. Residents are not allowed to access pornography, fake IPs, download or play pirated content, or use someone else's credentials.
General Rules
- AThe Service Provider reserves the right to revise rules and regulations from time to time and will keep residents informed of any changes via notices. Ignorance of any amendments will not be accepted as an excuse for any breach.
- BAny Resident found to have made false statements in their application to secure a room shall vacate immediately upon being asked to do so, and the deposit paid shall be forfeited.
- CAny kind of betting, gambling, wagering or other illegal activities under Indian law is strictly prohibited and grounds for expulsion from the RDS premises, and will result in forfeiture of deposits.
- DBuilding repairs and maintenance is a continuous and planned affair. The Service Provider/Owner reserves the right to enter any room while the student is on leave to carry out maintenance work and will not be liable for any loss of loose or unsecured belongings.
- ECommon areas in the RDS are under CCTV surveillance for the safety and security of residents. Residents are advised to maintain decorum in common areas and not obstruct or change the view of CCTV cameras.
- FPossession, distribution and use of firearms, lethal weapons (including air guns), contraband drugs, alcohol, toxic and hazardous materials are strictly prohibited. Management reserves the right to search bags of residents and visitors at any time and confiscate any prohibited substances.
- GThe Service Provider/Owner reserves the right to hand over the RDS to Government Authorities in case of any notice/order/directions from the District Administration or State Government. Rooms may be vacated and belongings shifted during any necessary compliance with such orders.
- HThe Service Provider and its employees will not be responsible for any packages/parcels received at the RDS. Residents are requested to coordinate and collect their parcels as soon as they arrive from the delivery person.
- IThe Service Provider reserves the right to move residents to other rooms if there is a necessity or emergency.
