RULES & REGULATIONS


RDS LIVING

  1. Residents should observe strict economy in electricity and water use. They must switch off the lights, fans, and other appliance as and when they leave their portion of RDS, common room and dining hall.
  2. Electricity charges are to be paid monthly for every individual unit as per the electricity meter installed for the particular unit. The rate for the consumption displayed in the meter would be decided by the RDS administration.
  3. Acts of vandalism, as mentionedin the Code of Conduct, shall result in eviction from the RDS. The Resident found guilty of vandalism would also be required to pay all costs incurred by RDS due to such damage and destruction.
  4. Keys provided to Residents for the rooms and almirahs are to be returned on completion of the stay. In case during the stay, the keys are misplaced, the replacement costs of the same would be borne by the Resident.
  5. Cooking food in any area (except the pantry room, if available in the RDS) is strictly prohibited.
  6. RDS Manager/Warden have full right to enter and inspect the rooms at any time they desire.
  7. Any Residents or their guests found to be engaging in any intoxicating substances on the RDS premises may be expelled.It is the responsibility of the residents to cooperate with the RDS management, the food providers, the housekeeping and security staff to ensure that all services are provided smoothly. The RDS management is the authority to decide on all matters. It is expected that residents must listen to RDS management and not get into any kinds of argument.

FOOD & DINING

  1. Kokoon Food Bundle consists of only vegetarian food.
  2. Select dishes will be served in limited grammages or quantities.
  3. Whether a Resident takes all meals or not, the Kokoon Food Bundle charges will be payable in full.
  4. Residents are strictly forbidden from taking utensils, crockery, cutlery etc., from the mess for use in their rooms.
  5. Meals will be served to the Resident in the dining hall only. However, if the RDS Manager/Warden permits, meals will be served in the Residents‘ room only for the reason of ill health.
  6. Storing of personal food items in the common refrigerators would be done by the Residents on their own risk. RDS management will not be held liable in case of the food being misplaced or stolen. Residents are advised to label their food items adequately.

MONEY & VALUABLES

  1. The Residents are advised not to keep ornaments, jewellery, other valuables, big amounts of cash with them.
  2. The residents are strongly advised to keep secure and lock all their valuables e.g., mobile phones, laptop, watches, money etc. at all times. While going on leave, they must keep all their belongings securely packed in their bags or cupboards.
  3. RDS management will not be answerable for any such loss of jewellery, cash or other valuables.

SERVANTS AND GENERAL SERVICES

  1. Personal Servants or maids are not allowed. No outside men or women (like tailors, cobblers etc.) will be permitted to enter any part of the RDS.
  2. Laundry services are meant for regular daily wear only. For hygiene considerations, no underclothing or socks will be accepted for Laundry.
  3. The Service Provider shall not be responsible for any damage to clothes given for Laundry.

LICENSE FEE, BUNDLE FEE & SECURITY DEPOSIT

  1. Delay in payment of License Fee and/or Bundle Fee will attract a late fee of Rs.50/− per day.
  2. At the time of leaving the RDS, all the facilities provided shall be checked and if any damage / breakage found, the same shall be adjusted with the security deposit.

DISCIPLINE

A resident who is found guilty of breaking rules, regulation, discipline and conduct is liable to be evicted from the RDS at once at the discretion of the Management.


HYGIENE, HEALTH & PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

  1. The residents shall immediately intimate the RDS Manager/ Warden if any critical or transferable illness is detected to prevent other residents from getting infected.
  2. The residents shall not consume any medication except which is prescribed by a registered medical practitioner.Residents will carry their garbage bins and dispose of it in the larger garbage binoneach floor.

INTERNET

  1. The Service Provider shall try to give a fair internet experience to everyone for which it may continuously monitor internet usage by the Residents.
  2. Internet speed will depend on the service provider and the location of the RDS. Speed will be limited per user and may be changed as per company policy.
  3. The Service provider reserves the right to restrict the maximum number of devices per user.
  4. Browsing access is restricted. The residents are not allowed to access pornography, faking IP, download and play pirated contents or piggybacking by using someone else’s credentials.

GENERAL RULES

  1. The Service Provider reserves the right to revise the rules and regulations from time to time and will keep the residents informed of any changes in the form of notices. Ignorance of any such amendments to the rules will not be accepted as an excuse for any breach of rules and regulations.
  2. Any Resident who is found to have made false statements in her application to secure a room, shall vacate the room immediately after she is asked to do so, and the deposit paid by her shall be forfeited.
  3. Any kind of betting, gambling, wagering or any other illegal activities under Indian law is strictly prohibited and grounds for expulsion from the RDS premises. The same would also result in forfeiture of deposits.
  4. Building repairs and maintenance is a continuous and planned affair and the Service Provider/Owner reserves the right to open and enter any room while the student is on leave to carry out such maintenance work. The Service Provider/Owner would not entertain any such claims for the loss / damage of any loose or unsecured belongings of the Resident.
  5. The common areas in the RDS are under CCTV surveillance for safety and security of the residents. The residents are advised to maintain decorum in common areas and not to obstruct/change the view of CCTV by any means.
  6. Possession, distribution and use of firearms, lethal weapons (including air guns), contraband drugs, alcohol, toxic and hazardous material are strictly prohibited in the RDS. The management reserve the right to search bags of the residents and their visitors at any time and confiscate any prohibited substances that may be found in their luggage or in their possession.
  7. The Service Provider/Owner reserves its right to handover the RDS to the Government Authorities in case there is any notice/order/directions from the District Administration or State Government to acquire the RDS during an emergency. The rooms occupied by the residents may be vacated, and their belongings may be shifted in their absence for any necessary compliance of such Government Order.
  8. The Service Provider or its employees will not be responsible for any packages/parcels received at the RDS. The Residents are requested to coordinate & collect their parcels as soon as it reaches the RDS from the delivery boy.
  9. The Service Provider reserve the right to move residents to other rooms if there is a necessity or emergency.
